Claire Block

Claire is a Materials Science undergraduate in her third year at Arizona State University (ASU). She joined the group in December 2019 and works with Joshua Vincent on analyzing images of platinum nanoparticles in different gas environments in a TEM. Her interests are nanomaterials that have an application to renewable energy or sustainability, such as the catalysts being studied in this group, and nanomechanics. Additionally, she is pursuing a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership through ASU’s Public Service Academy to learn how the nonprofit, private, and public sectors collaborate to solve the world’s biggest challenges such as climate change. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, she intends to start a PhD program in Materials Science. Outside of the lab, Claire enjoys reading, playing piano, learning, and exploring.
