Mai Tan

Mai joined the group as a Ph.D. student in Spring 2020. She finished her undergraduate study in Material Science and Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. Her undergraduate research mainly focused on synthesis and characterization of polymer embedded ceramic solid-state electrolyte LLZO materials for Li-ion battery applications. Her current research focuses on developing a fundamental understanding of oxygen exchange, transport mechanism, and measuring oxygen exchange rate at the surface for fluorites and perovskites using atomic resolution in situ imaging and spectroscopy using Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM).
