Qianlang Liu

Qianlang Liu

Qianlang Liu obtained her bachelor’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China.  She was involved in an exchange program and has spent her senior year at ASU. Currently she is pursuing a Ph.D. degree also in Materials Science and Engineering in Dr. Crozier’s group.

Her interests include clean energy, nanomaterials and transmission electron microscope (TEM). She is studying the structure-reactivity relationships of titanium oxide and tantalum oxide based photocatalysts. This project involves testing the reactivity performances of catalyst nanopowders using a photo-reactor system, as well as characterizing their nanostructures in a TEM. Currently she is developing a technique to study the surface electronic structures of nanoparticles using in situ microscopy and electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS).
